Elemental Principle: Communicate (3)
By maestro. Filed in Productivity |The impact of my communication derives largely from its under- lying motivation. As Gandhi once said, “True art takes note not merely of form but also of what lies behind. There is an art that kills and an art that gives life. True art must be evidence of happiness, contentment and purity of its authors.” However, often we unwittingly hide our under- lying motivation from ourselves. Fear, self-doubt, and confusion are the Air phase’s most common challenges. Thinking of the black dot at the center of the yin/yang symbol as the heart, try to keep the heart present and to trust it. Strive to place a unifying intention at the heart of each action to implement a win-win solution.
Four ideals create effective action, which I call the principles of centered communication. These are the values of a prophet:
Act from truth: Be honest.
Act without a why: Be detached from reward or punishment.
Act from the largest possible perspective: Include rather than separate.
Act with acceptance and curiosity: Cultivate courage.
John the Baptist, Albert Einstein, Susan B. Anthony, and Nelson Mandela are just a few examples of centered communicators or prophets who followed these guidelines. Rumi describes one who acts from this centered state in his poem “Ali in Battle”:
